IDP Industria Divani e Poltrone, was born in 1981 with the idea of bringing to foreign markets the popular and highly requested leather products made in Italy. In collaboration with the historical Italian tanneries – IDP is able to propose to the market exclusive hides becoming one of Italy’s most renowned companies within the industry for the quality of their products. The historical development and the interest in following industry trends, lead IDP to expand the production with collections of sofas and armchairs also in fabric.

One of the main goals of the company is to bring classic design into modern interiors and therefore IDP developed a full range of padded sofas and fauteuils in the old english chesterfield style. Chesterfield is not a brand but just a type of sofa and is only to be made with high quality leather. IDP has developed the ‘sahara’ model with a straight and high backrest. This piece with high backrest is made in amazingly beautiful detail. Piping on the cushions makes the whole package completed. The padded stitching is done with full leather flaps to show the Italian craftsmen their skills and make a real and high quality ‘Chesterfield’ sofa.
