01’s Charles and Ray Eames ‘lcw’ plywood fauteuil for Vitra set/2
The LCW Armchair, designed by Charles and Ray Eames, is the result of years of experiments in which the designers were looking for new processes for adapting three-dimensional shaped plywood to the body shapes as best as possible. The result was a series of 6 models, the Plywood Group, in which both the seat and backrest and the frame are made of plywood. The organic shape and warmth of the wood invite you to sit comfortably.
The Plywood Group consists of a series of 6 different models that are distinguished by materials and upholstery. The LCW, which stands for Lounge Chair Wood, is entirely made of molded plywood (ash wood) and this set is stained red.
Eames originally designed the LCW for Herman Miller, of which Vitra later officially acquired the licenses, this set is from 2001, and in very good condition.
