Willem Kind was born in Rotterdam in 1947. In the 1970s he trained as a visual artist at the Rotterdam Academy of Visual Arts. Before that he had been taught in Paris by the Italian sculptor Ilio Signori. Kind established himself as a visual artist in Emmen in Drenthe.

Since 2007 he lives in the German Neuenhaus. He makes figures and objects from stainless steel. He let his statue “de Kop” roam through the Netherlands. As the Kop van Willem, the statue was made in Emmen and ended up in Amsterdam via Apeldoorn. As the Kop van Borger, the statue ended up in this place in Drenthe in 1997. There the statue had to give way due to the work on the N34. In 2013, the statue returned as the Kop van de Hondsrug on the other side of the N34.

The object chair is called fraternization (verbroedering) and shows the middle of a chair and a bar stool. Made in 2004 in beautiful welded steel. The object is signed and in very good condition.
