Theo Ruth is is responsible for the success of the Artifort brand around the world. During his career, Ruth designed collectable furniture such as the Congo cair (1952) and the Penguin chair (1957). Their design is remarkable: there have been build without screws!
Thank to his job among Artifort, Ruth met famous designers such as Pierre Paulin and Geoffroy Harcourt. He is still one of greatest designers from the 20th Century.

In the 1950s he designed more classic line of chairs and fauteuils for example this comfortable lounge armchair that is beautifully detailed. This chair has been reupholstered by the previous owner in excellent quality and is therefore in very very good condition consistent with age and use.
