Belgian designer Alfred Hendrickx was born in 1931. While information is limited, it is known that Hendrickx collaborated with Belgian furniture manufacturer Belform throughout the midcentury, designing elegant, sculptural furniture. His 1950s and ‘60s-era pieces have been recently rediscovered on the vintage market, sought after for their more “industrial-style” take on the midcentury Scandinavian look, using both fine woods like oak and teak and less luxurious materials like laminates and steel.

This set of six dining chairs are the best way to tell about Alfred. Metal framed steel, stabilized with the x cross form in the middle section of the foot, combined with black skai seating and teak backrest. All combinations Hendrickx liked to see in his designs are shown here. Minor spurs of aging in the skai seating. The chairs are in good condition consistent with age and use.
