Provenance
Johanson furniture began in 1953, when Börje Johanson came up with the idea to sew cushions, and then began a company. Through the years,Johanson kept focusing on Scandinavian design and sterling furniture craftsmanship.   Nowadays the Johanson company based in Sweden, Markyard works with Europe’s foremost furniture designers. And their main focus is on public spaces interior objects. Still growing and still a family run business. In the 1960s Börje designed the Venus and Comet Cosmos chair. He meant this design to be timeless and this succeeded very well. Their search, again already in the 1960s, was its time ahead, by this fantastic simple, minimalistic designed family chair. Börje designed a complete line of trumpet feet dining chairs, stools and barstools. Most well known are probably his Venus Chairs. Trumpet feet are very practical because they carry weight easily, and the foot gives your legs and feet a lot of space. Besides the designing aspect of course. The Venus set of six (!) is rare and very comfortable, with its aluminium swivel foot.
