Founded in Sonnfeld near Coburg Germany, just after the Second World War in 1945 by Walter Donner.

Known for her very beautiful glassware. Doria produced medium to expensive fashionable design fixtures, often with their recognizable and handsome glassware.

The 60s were the years in which Doria was a major and well-known player in the market for high-end lighting fixtures. The company then had 300 employees. And to show it’s craftmanship skills Doria in the 60s built a gigantic chandelier of no less than 10 meter in its length and fitted with its finest glassware. This architectural design piece was intended for a bank in Saudi Arabia. It is the largest chandelier of its category built in the world to date.

Externally they also worked together with well-known industrial designers including: Wilhelm Braun Feldweg and former Bauhaus student Wolfgang Tümpel. Doria exsisted till 1986 and had to close than their business activities.

This candelier is a 1st edition with metal hangers for the glass in a very good condition with nice patina on the brass elements near the beautiful glass pipes.
