As an industrial and product designer, Guarnacci was employed by the company 1P of the Permaflex group in Italy. He mainly worked in the company’s “studies and research” sector, where he made working prototypes of a modular ring lighting system that was easy to install even on several floors in homes.

For 1P he designs numerous articles in the upholstered furniture sector. In 1969 Guarnacci’s contribution to the company includes a large number of proposals which can be classified under the heading “modern and comfortable”. Nuava, Boma, seating furniture designed mainly for the Italian domestic market and for the foreign market names such as Ecuba, Sincoca, Moth and this set for industrial companies, the Istora armchairs.

In fact, Guarnacci mainly remained active in preliminary studies and research, after which he later developed into an industrial designer for Italian trains.

This makes Emilio Guarnacci furniture unique and exclusive because of the special design, their high quality and good material.

These Istora armchairs are rare, very comfortable and in very good condition. This Isotra model is also part of the Museo del Design collection in Torscana. Very rare to find and highly comfortable to sit in.

We found these chairs in full original condition, with one chair missing a stroke of fabric on its back. We prefer to show these very unique fauteuil in the condition we found it. The general condition is good consistent with age and use. The missing stroke fabric needs attention.
