Metal framed dining chair by Belotti for Fly Line Italy in the 1970s. The seating gives the chair the name spaghetti chair because of the rubber lining. In the 1970s the chairs carried a contrasting and eye-catching sticker with the brandname on it (Fly Line carre vi made in Italy). The first owner of this set found this sticker to heavy and removed it. Chairs are therefore unmarked, however the very rare design is orginal Fly Line. After graduating in architecture from the University of Venice, Giandomenico Belotti began working in research, restoration, city planning and industrial design. Since 1979 he has worked with Alias planning spaghetti chair. Still considered one of the most contemporary expressions of modern design, the chair is part of the permanent collection at the MoMA in New York and the green outdoor collection. This set is in good condition, 1 chair has a line that is less beautiful, the others are in great shape.
