Ludwig Mies van der Rohe MR 534 / MR 20 fauteuil for Mücke Melder
€2,400.00
The MR 534 / MR 20 fauteuil made of tubular nickel combines timeless elegance with seating comfort. The limited use of materials, the elegant lines and the transparency are the most striking features of the MR534 / MR20.
The chair owes its special comfort to the constant elastic suspension. This effect is due to the fact that Mies van der Rohe conceived the front part of the steel tubular frame as a large arch of spring steel tubing.
While most of the 1930s designs were quite simple and functional, this chair clearly bears the architect’s signature. The MR 534 / MR20 chair was first presented in the Weissenhof-Siedlung in 1927. Frame made of nickel!
This particular piece owns it design from the 1930s and is in orginal and restored very good condition. The chair has new upholstery in black canvas for the seating and backrest. Very rare!
