Not much information is available about the Frankfurt based Roder Sohne manufacturer. Miller Borgsen was the permanent designer for the company that had its origins in furniture in steel production and in particular barber chairs.

It is known that the company Greiner, which was founded in 1922 and specializes in hairdressing interiors, medical furniture and car furniture, took over the entire hairdressing furniture program from Roder Sohne in 1972. After that, not much information about Roder Sohne can be found. Still, this is a good indication of quality furniture made under Roder Sohne.

The origin of the furniture was in fact business furniture. Also this higher bar stool which would not look out of place in a hair salon, but which at the same time also came into its own in business spaces and private environments. The metal leg of the stools has a beautiful patina and the skai of the upholstery is in good condition consistent with age and use.
