In Kirchberg in the Toggenburg 1886 the upholsterer master Gottlieb Strässle opened an upholstery pad and car construction industry. Its son, ho had been formed in Nice as interior decorator, took over the paternal business in 1929. In the same year already, he showed his first contemporary collection of upholstered furniture at the Swiss sample fair in Basel. Also by then he began on the production of seat furniture.

Numerous models from the Strässle collection are specified as important drafts in the book of „Möbel die Geschichte machten“. The Eichenberger collection, the model Arco and Nonna of Paul Tuttle, and the exclusive from fiber glass and polyester designed furniture program Sitwell of Hans Bellmann as well as the model Divan of S.L. Bensinger.

The manufacturing also today still takes place after the same principles. High-quality pure aniline leather finished by specialists with perfection offers singular seat benefit with a fantastic touch. Timeless design by Strässle.

Pault Tuttle decided in the second World war after a India employment with the American Air Force to pursue consistently his own way of the self expression. After study at the Art Center College in Pasadena and his work as architect and designer with for example Knoll international and Doetsch Grether & Cie Paul Tuttle designed since 1967 exclusive furniture for Strässle.

This Nonna rocking chair is in good condition consistent with age and use.
