Pine wood is directly connected with scandinavian design. Well known desigeners like Knud Friis, Elmar Moltke Nielsen, Carl Malmsten and Rainer Daumiller liked to work with this type of wood.

The main reason must have been of course the looks of the pine wood. It is a soft wood because of the resin that is naturally in the wood. Long time people thought hardwood was the type of wood that would win a battle in the lifetime of wood. But the resin in Pine wood makes the type of wood surviving any other type of wood and mixes the words ‘everlasting’ in it.

That technical detail used the designers justed mentioned also to design in Pine wood.

This set of 4 dining chairs is actually built by a very good skilled craftsmen. There is no screw to find and all connections seem to be made invisible. Set is in good condition consistent with age and use.
