70s Roger Sprunger brass and glass coffee table for Dunbar Furniture
Roger Sprunger was president designer of Dunbar Furniture for 25 years. A graduate of Kendall School of Design in Grand Rapids, MI, he served in the U.S. Army for 3 1/2 years during World War II.
He continued his profession in the furniture business as Sales and Design Coordinator for Berne Furniture, until his retirement in April of 1990.
Sprunger also served as Design Coordinator at Swiss Village Retirement Center for 29 years and was active on the Swiss Heritage committee. In 2003 Roger Sprunger was selected as the Grand Marshall during Swiss Days in honor of the many Swiss style store fronts he designed in Berne. He passed away on December 12, 2008.
The rare square glass table top coffee table based on the special twisted chromed steel frame is probably one of the most well known table frames he designed.
