Omer Crab was born in 1938 in Willebroek in Belgium. He studied at the Royal Academy in Antwerp, where he was taught by Gustave C. Debruyne (1914-1981) and Albert De Roover (1892-1978). Omer ended up in the advertising world as a designer and draftsman. He worked for a while for the Moortgat brewery. Omer, for example, is also the designer of the ‘Duvel’ inscription on the glasses.

The artist opts for a meticulous representation of reality, supplemented by the playfulness of his fantasy. Omer Crab likes painting that is finished, the combination of reality and artistry often come together in his works. Omer is best known for his refined paintings, but it is also known that Omer sometimes tried other directions. Furniture design but everything he made had that combination of beauty, realism and artistry. Also the sparse furniture that mostly remained unknown. This bench is attributed to Omer Crab because of the origin of the object, the realism in the oak and the artistry that shows a tree trunk into a bench for indoor use. Item is unmarked, which originates from Belgium and from his living environment. It is made of beautiful oak in the brutalist style. This data means that the bench is attributed to Omer Crab.
