Consider this unique table lamp has been designed by Wilhelm Wagenfeld in … 1923! Wagenfeld was 24 years old, when he was admitted as a journeyman to the Bauhaus workshop in Weimar. Here he designed the first model of this lamp as his solution to an assignment given to him by Moholy-Nagy. As Wagenfeld said years later, the Bauhaus designs were intended to be industrial products and indeed looked like them. In fact they were hand-crafted.

The Italian company Tecnolumen still sells this timeless lamp, which became famous as Bauhaus lamp or Wagenfeld lamp. The designer himself had granted the founder of Tecnolumen, Walther Schnepel, his personal license for this. In this way, the Bauhaus lamp, which represents a design classic, lives on into the 21st century and enchants countless contemporary living spaces with its beautiful form and functionality.

The table lamp was developed by the pioneer of industrial design Wilhelm Wagenfeld (1900 – 1990) under the direction of the Bauhaus teacher László Moholy-Nagy. In fact, it was initially handmade, although it was intended to look like an industrial product.

We offer a set of 2 pieces, early pieces. The handcord switch of both are not original though good working. Set is in fine condition consistent with age and use.
