90s cognac leather side chair for Amat-3

Amat-3 is a furniture manufacturer that aimes it’s collections on professional markets, collective areas and is located in the town of Martorell, Barcelona.

In 1944 Antonio Amat Bou began the buisness activity by creating an intermediate service workshop. In the 1950s Antonio changed directions towards manufacturing furniture, and particularly street and school furniture.

In 1957, Antonio Amat Vidal took over for the following generation, the company expanded with considerable investment in industrial buildings and installations and was consolidated as the leader of sector of furniture for collective units. In 1984 the architect Conrad Amat Vidal took over the the management of this family buisness, giving it a design philosophy, while at the same time encouraging the process of product differentiation and opening up the buisness to international markets.

In the design philopsophy of Amat-3 , the name of the brandname, it became more and more common to work with great designers like Pepe Cortes. Also Amat has a match with aluminium and leather as materials to be used for their furniture. It is timeless and beautiful. Most well known are the stools in cast aluminium.
