The rhythm of life in the smart working era and the habits of an increasingly connected society inspired this series of design armchairs by Japanese designer Toshiyuki Kita with an eye to the evolving needs and styles of the future. A design that responds to the needs of modern-day society and the rhythms of life in the era of the home office, where the technology is “always on”, as much in the home as it is in the work space.

The objective was to create a mobile sitting-room in the form of a comfortable and dynamic armchair that could swivel through 360 degrees, while also being comfortable. Suited to many contexts, including the “soft contract” setting. These compact armchairs, with low backrest and optional casters have a dynamic, comfortable shape, easy to use at home or in contract settings.

The Canta armchair has a movable armrest that can be used as a headrest. Kita designed this chair for Cassina in 1996. It is part of the permantent collection of the Museum for Modern and Contemporary Art in Saint Etienne. This chair is new, never been seaten on, and in very very good condition.
