Jan Willem Krijger ‘arrival hall on Venus” wall sculpture
Jan Willem Krijger is sculptor, designer, Painter and born in the Netherlands in 1957. Being creatively inspired at the age of 14, Jan Willem was surrounded with all the books from the modern artists like Moore to Miro. Combined with the esotheric experience at the age of 16, it resulted in an enormous production of ceramic sculptures up to 200 pcs a year. This high production phase was a major step that gave shape to his design form for the future. Working and living for many years in Italy, carving with the italian masters was the next experience to follow his creative destiny.
Jan Willem lived in 6 countries, like USA and the carribean, and you will find his work in many private art and collections. His goal on making art is in fact very basic: He wants to make the viewer happy. JW Krijger art is creating purity in form, visual harmony peace and joy for the eye and the soul. JW Krijger forms are usually organic shapes combined with geometrical forms, as they appear on the way of creating a form. Happy colors in combination with gold will usually give the spectator a sense of alignment. That is in his later works. The bronzes have usually no specific color since a highly polished surface will accentuate their form.
In 2016 JW made the wall decorative sculpture ‘Arrival hall on Venus’. It is in colorful 3D printed material hand painted with acrylic. The wall decorative art is in very good condition. The name makes you wonder and think about the object. Is is it his future image when living on another planet? If so… JW has to be right, it will make happy.
