Maurice Burke ‘Alpha Sling’ lounge fauteuil for Pozza set/2

Bento Goncalves is a relative small,beautiful city in the south of Brasil. Pozza, Brazilian company specialized for over 55 years in metal high standard luxury furniture is located in Bento Gonçalves, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The city is one of the largest furniture hubs in Brazil, with ample infrastructure and logistics necessary for the distribution of products with safety and agility. Maurice Burke is probably most known because of his design of the Tulip chair for Star Trek movie. His design for Arkana are the bedrock of Star Trek. Its futuristic good looks made it very at home on the U.S.S Enterprise during the late 1960s in the Star Trek Original series and it went on to be used in many of the Star Trek later films. For example in 1967’s Casino Royale. Latterly known as Arkana, but before that Bath Cabinet Makers and also the Flight Works, Arkana had a history since 1976. The company was founded by Charles A. Richter and grew to a worldwide delivering cabinet maker company. The had a some real luxury designs for example for Queen mare and Elizabeth, but also they where aimed on history and handmade furniture for a long time because they thought machines would not make beautiful design. How strange was the cooperation in the 1960s with Maurice Burke who designed Star Trek furniture build by Arkana! In Brasil Burke worked also for Pozza because Pozza was able to make luxury furniture with metal tubular frames that could be demounted and assembled easily so transport wordlwide would be more interesting. He designed the Claverdon Lounge and dining chairs and also this Alpha fauteuil with Pozza. Chairs are in very good condition consistent with age and use.
