Born in 1983 and having graduated in 2006 from Beijing Art Academy, Song Wen Zhong went on to win a number of prestigious national design competitions in China. In 2009 he won the Roche Bobois Design Award based on the theme of “Nature, universal link between East and West”. for his innovative design, the AVA chair. Since, Song Wen Zhong has established his own independent design studio in his hometown of Chengdu, in Southwest China.

Roche Bobois is a Paris based world leader in furniture design. Working closely with renowned designers such as Marcel Wanders, Kenzo Takada, Ora Ito, Cédric Ragot, Sacha Lakic, Christophe Delcourt and Stephen Burks and with Haute Couture fashion houses such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Missoni Home and Christian Lacroix Maison, Roche Bobois offers a broad range of exclusive made-to-order designs, manufactured with a high level of customisation in small European workshops.

The Ava chair was inspired by the idea of mythical dragons and the design of Ming dynasty armchairs. It is a high-tech object, created using the modern technique of polycarbonate injection. It is manufactured by injection of Re-life polypropylene made of recycled industrial waste! Light and stackable, designed by Song Wen Zhong, Note the translucent red pieces are named Translucent Ruby.
