90s Uwe Fischer ‘tama’ metal and acrylic chair for B&B Italia set/4
€520.00
Born in 1958, Uwe Fischer studied industrial design at the Offenbach form and design college. In 1985 he founded Ginbande design. During the course of the following ten years he developed a series of experimental designs. In 1993 he opened his studio in Frankfurt am main. The various themes of the designs, created by the Uwe Fischer studio, take inspiration above all from the interest and curiosity regarding architecture- and design-related problems. The permanent collaborators have their roots in these two fields of study. The open-minded and accordant attitude, with respect to contents, reflects a characteristic work method, essentially based on dialogue between all the people involved in the various designs. The studio considers itself more of a workshop than a company providing a service. In 1993, Uwe Fischer was given a teaching post at the academy of fine arts of Nuremberg.
For B&B Italia he designed several timeless pieces of furniture, most well known are probably the Sina chairs and tables. This ‘Tama’ chair is a stackable chair with a smart solution of mounting the polyurethane seat on the metal frame of the chair. In the design two different versions have been available. The armless stackable chairs and chairs with armrest. This set of 4 (!) chairs are armless and in good condition.
