50s Theo Ruth ‘F815’ fauteuil voor Artifort set/2
Theo Ruth was born in 1915 in the Netherlands and studied at the Academy of Arts in Maastricht. He quickly became interested in design. In 1936, the young designer joined Artifort and dedicated his work to living room furniture. As a talented designer, he became the director of design in 1939, until his death in 1971. Theo Ruth is is responsible for the success of the Artifort brand around the world. During his career, Ruth designed collectable furniture such as the Congo cair (1952) and the Penguin chair (1957). And also for the F815 chair a design fully matching the world of the 1960s. Thank to his job among Artifort, Ruth met famous designers such as Pierre Paulin and Geoffroy Harcourt. He is still one of greatest designers from the 20th Century. The F815 chairs are in very good condition, they have been certificated upholstered by Artifort by a previous owner in beautiful kvadrat fabric. One spot in the red cushion.
