By the curator:

In 1962 the brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, designed the Taccia table lamp for Flos. It was never meant by the brothers to design a postmodern table lamp. In fact the main issue of the lamp was the bowl. First prototypes did not work out very well for them, and they got a minor obsession to have the creation of a bowl possible on the lamp. This is what the makes the Taccia lamp nowadays very special because the brothers had the bowl made by handmade blown Murano glass. This makes every Taccia unique. This Table lamp is providing indirect and reflected light. Reflector in painted aluminium, gloss white on the outside and matt white on the inside. The diffuser in transparent blown glass. Body in naturally anodized extruded aluminium. Base in nickel-plated ABS+PC. The lamp has the E27 fitting which allows you to use LED bulbs. The Taccia lamp is a huge succes for Flos, the lamp is still in production. The ‘Taccia Small’ tablelamp of 49cm height. The Taccia table lamp of 65cm heigth like the one we offer you. We are happy to offer this specific piece because the white version is not to be ordered as new anymore. This makes the lamp most interesting for collectioners and design lovers. Lamp is in good condition consistent with age and use.
