80s Peter Maly ‘zyklus’ sofa for Cor

In the 1960s, Peter Maly led the interior design team of the leading German design magazine Schöner Wohnen and helped shape the face of this magazine. Maly sees himself as a constructivist; the basis for his designs are geometric shapes. Square parts are his preference, which clearly shows the influence of Hoffmann and Mackintosh. But he also designed from geometric circles like the Zyklus sofa and chairs for COR. Maly is always consumer-oriented and always keeps in mind the kind of people he designs for. In addition to his activities as a furniture designer, Maly is also responsible for the showrooms of Daimler-Benz, among others.

The Zyklus two seat sofa was designed by Maly in the 1980s. The chair was produced by Cor in Germany. The frame is made of chromed tubular steel. All parts of this design are derived from a circle. The chair is easy to move by lifting the front part and moving the chair. The neck roll is adjustable in height. This two seater is a 80s edition and in good condition consistent with age and use.
