Provenance
By the curator:

Maletti was founded in 1936 at the initiative of Guerrino Maletti in Milano Italy. Guerrino Maletti, the founder, began working in Milan, manufacturing and selling hair salon equipment. The company grew largely into the high end of hair solan furniture and equipment manufacturer. Their secret: working with the best designer of their time, for example with Philipe Starck and Borek Sipek. In 1995 the Bohemian artist Borek Sipek developed an original collection with a Neo-Baroque soul, made from brightly coloured, sculptural furnishings for hair salons, two product lines that today still carry the same inestimable value: products with a timeless, unique and exclusive design, the expression of stylish modernity. Through the projects Navab and Maletik, Sipek’s exceptional and “highly sensual” collections have helped Maletti to grow also in formal terms, launching the company towards the most prestigious boundaries of design. This freestanding cabinet is named Coppia and was part of the Maletic collection manufactured by Maletti Italy. Beautiful desing that is matching high end hairsalon furniture but with the same importance also in any high end home decor. This object is in good condition consistent with age and use.
