90s Hugo de Ruiter ‘trias’ dining table for Leolux
In 1980 Hugo de Ruiter (1959) started working as a product developer at Leolux. He will be head of the Product Development department and house designer at Leolux. He successfully combines his knowledge of the craft with his design knowledge. This results in furniture in which the central theme is “movement”.
In 2001 he leaves Leolux and De Ruiter starts a “second life” as an independent designer; he wants to further deepen his signature and give his creativity a new impulse. Hugo de Ruiter still regularly works for Leolux from his studio.
This Trias table is a good example of movement in furniture. The three legs of the round table provide a very solid round table without any legs getting in the way. The table is made to enlarge, where an intermediate leaf could be placed. This table lacks that intermediate leaf, but the function is preserved.S
