Provenance
By the curator:

Antonio Citterio was born in Meda and lives and works in Milan. He graduated in Architecture at the Politecnico of Milan and from 1972 he has worked for many leading manufacturers such as B&B Italia, Vitra, Kartell and Flexform. He has also been engaged in architectural works dealing with construction projects and interiors both in Italy and abroad. He holds lectures and conferences all over the world and his work has been extensively exhibited and published. Flexform dates back to 1959 when the Galimberti brothers — Romeo, Pietro and Agostino — started the Flexform di Galimberti workshop. Flexform prides itself on crafting pieces that are perfectly proportional and versatile enough to adapt to the needs of the user and the space in which they are placed. Always elegant and refined in appearance, Flexform’s furniture is recognizable by its timelessness and use of high-end, sustainably sourced materials like linen, cotton, cashmere and wood. The 2001 ‘groundpiece’ collection, designed by Antonio Citterio, is one of its best sellers. Carlotta was reinterpreted in a contemporary vein with use of sophisticated materials, like metal and leather. The joint screws, clearly visible on the metal structure, emphasize the austere, unornamented design that sets this armchair apart. Exceptional design from the 1990s. The seat is foldable. This set of 2 pieces is in good condition consistent with age and use.
