This extraordinary chair is named the ‘Joe Seat’ and was dedicated to the legendary baseball champion, Joe DiMaggio, the giant Joe Seat was designed in 1970 by Italian architects Jonathan de Pas, Donato D’urbino and Paolo Lomazzi. In the people breath the chair is also named “Joe Glove’.
The chair has been made originally in full leather. This leather piece is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the whimsical chair design is now considered a cult classic.

The chair was reissued in 2003 featuring a self-cushioning plastic polymer that makes it functional for both indoor and outdoor use.
Joe reflects the zeitgeist of its day, when there was a widespread desire to confront the established forms and traditional norms in the name of creativity.
