Hein Mader bronze sculpture
Heinrich Josef (Hein) Mader (Willendorf in der Wachau, March 9, 1925 – Tjeintgum, October 31, 2011) was a Dutch visual artist of Austrian descent. In 1960 he settled in Amsterdam and from 1989 worked in Tjeintgum (a hamlet of Mantgum). Some of his works can be found in a sculpture garden in Tjeintgum and in the Hortus in Haren. His works of art are in private collections at home and abroad. During his lifetime, Mader kept much of his work in his own possession and exhibited it in the garden around his own home and studio in Tjeintgum. This garden was open to the public during the summer months. Mader worked with various materials such as steel, bronze, wood, marble, hard stone and limestone. In total he created more than three hundred images. These sculptures are largely housed in Stichting Beheer Collectie Hein Mader, which is led by his children Sonja and Johan. Some of them have being sold, and this sculpture was sold via an official Dutch auction house. The patinated bronze ribbon-shaped sculpture with a rectangular base, standing on a stone pedestal. It is not signed. Scultpture and foot in good condition.
