See information below.

In 1968 Martin Haksteen was introduced by an aunt to well-known industrial designer André Cordemeyer. He was immediately sold and took an entrance exam at the last minute for the Academy of Industrial Design in Eindhoven. “In 1973 I graduated in one of the most beautiful professions I can think of. A wonderful profession.”

This chair has been given the name ‘de deining’ in Dutch (the swell) by Haksteen and that of course says everything about the round tubular frame in sled form. This gives the seating comfort an extra dimension due to the slight swell that a sled chair entails. Wonderful seating comfort in this lounge set. Set in good condition consistent with age and use.
