Paola Navone ‘paola’ fauteuil for Linteloo set/2
A chance meeting between renowned designer Paola Navone and Jan te Lintelo led to a friendship rooted in a shared love of food, cooking and travel. Paola: This is how I always work: I get my inspiration and ideas from the people I meet. know and who I am friends with. I have a special bond with Linteloo, a personal click with both Jan and his partner Lars. It’s almost a love affair. All the furniture I made started with conversations with Jan and Lars.’
Graduated from the Technical College in Turin in 1973, Paola has always shunned conventionality and found supporters in the ‘anti-design’ movement with leaders such as Mendini and Sottsass. “It was really crazy what we did. We put all our energy into making completely useless things.”
Of course ‘useless’ is not the issue with the furniture she designed like the collection that caries her own name “paola’ fauteuils are a small collection with sofas and large lounge chairs. Like this set of two designed in 2010. Both in very good condition.
