By the curator:

Jacqueline Borg studied at the National Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam. She has been living and working in Leiden for years now. In addition to her free work, she specialized mainly in drawing and painting portraits. Father Borg was best known in Amsterdam as an ‘Artis draftsman’ where he often drew children with monkeys. Jacqueline specialized mainly in fine painting and magical realism.

This large impressive work dates from 1980 and was made for the municipality of Groningen city in the Netherlands. The subject of the work was ‘packaging materials’ and at that time a subject that needed attention. There was too much, too often unnecessary use of it and you could get entangled by it as a human being. That image outlines all the elements that packaging material can evoke and has above all become an extremely powerful image that is still topical. Jacqueline used a model wrapped in plastic and aluminum foil to make this work. On the backside of list the name of Jacqueline is written wrongly by the previous owner. It is confirmed by Jacqueline herself. The work is provided with a new solid full wooden lacquered frame and is in good condition.
