Maarten van Severen LL04 Lounge Chair by for Pastoe nr 075

Pastoe only made 130 pieces of the chair and the first 15 where only produced for musea. The other 115 pieces are very rare and huhgly desired by design enthousiasts. This exceptional lounge chair is made by Pastoe in 2004. This LL04 was one of the last designs by van Severen before he died in 2005 at the age of only 48 years. The LL04 was one of his last designs. The early productions made by Pastoe are very rare and desirable. This cognac saddle leather version has gained a stunning patina. Limited numbered (number 075). Pastoe productions where handmade which is visible at the beautiful hand welded frame. The design is refined, essential and down to earth. It has a distinct graphic line with some peculiar elements such as the one sided armrest-table and the stitched detail. The seat has been constructed using a thin stainless steel frame onto which a saddle leather skin has been stretched. By doing so, the leather skin functions as support and in time will sculpt to the shape of the user. The skin of the saddle leather consists of three different parts cross-stitched to each other and then attached to the frame with small bolts.
Chair is in beautiful condition consistent with age and use.
